Judging criteria
Round One
Initial business ideas will be assessed on
two criteria :
1. Creativity (50%)
- Is the business idea an original one?
- Does it have a creative approach?
2. Commercial viability (50%)
- Is there a demand for this product or service?
- Does this business have growth potential?
- Does this business have the potential to expand
beyond the local market?
Round Two
1. Innovation and creative thinking (40%)
- Is the business idea an original one?
- Does it have a highly creative approach?
2. Commercial viability and potential (40%)
- Does this business idea offer an attractive and
realistic opportunity?
- Is there a sound business strategy?
- Does it have a demand for this product and/or
service?
- Are the market and financial projections
realistic?
- Does the business have good growth prospects?
3. Writing/Communication skills (15%)
- Is the business plan clear and well written?
4. Competitive advantage (5%)
- Is the proposed technology or skill capable of
creating a commercial advantage?
Round Three
1. Content of business plan (60%)
2. Communication Skills (40%)
