IUKL Logo Unveiled
Kajang, 13 September 2012 – On 13th September 2012 marked a historical moment for the Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University College (KLIUC) as the transformation journey to become one of Malaysia’s premier universities is complete. KLIUC is now known as Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL). To celebrate this new milestone and the 14th anniversary of its establishment, an Adilfitri Open House was organised at the university campus.
The event commenced with an Opening Speech by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Zulkifli Abdul Hamid, followed by the unveiling of the new IUKL logo by the Pro-Chancellor, YBhg. Academician Dato’ Ir. Dr. Lee Yee Cheong, the Executive Director of Protasco Berhad, Mr. See Ah Sing together with YBhg. Dato’ Chong Ket Pen, Group Managing Director of Protasco Berhad.
During the event, IUKL also presented the rationale of the logo, together with the new IUKL song and the first university marketing animation video in Malaysia.
The new logo bears the image of an open book and a tower building. The dynamic image of the logo signifies the niche of the university: INFRASTRUCTURE. The words ‘Infrastructure’ and ‘University’, adjacent to the tower building and the open book epitomises IUKL’s motto; ‘For Knowledge, For Humanity’.
The IUKL animation video “R U Game?” is basically a positioning and conceptual ‘Call-to-Action’ video and is one of a kind.The video is a friendly challenge to today’s youth to take positive steps to prove their worth by taking charge of their lives and to become independent thinkers with entrepreneurial skills; to be well-rounded individuals with a comprehensive set of skills and knowledge to take on the world.
Apart from that, guests were also entertained byfantastic performances by IUKL’s very own local and international students.
As Malaysia’s premier Infrastructure University, IUKLgained its influence of expertise and aptitude through the Research and Training Institute of the Public Works Department, Malaysia (JKR) by establishing Ikram College in 1998. This is an initial and keen approach towards the developing of tertiary education. Ikram College was later upgraded to a university college in 2003, KLIUCand now a full-fledged university.
To date, IUKL offers about 50 programmes ranging from Foundation to Postgraduate studies, and the programmes are from various fields of study such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical & Automotive Engineering, Geomatic Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Biotechnology, Sports Management, Accountancy, Business Administration, Information Technology, Corporate Communication, English for Professional Communication and others.
Majority of the programmes are accredited and approved by the Malaysian Qualification Agency(MQA). IUKLhas also received international recognition andis certified with ISO 9001:2008and accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). Apart from that, IUKL has been awarded witha MSC status.
With over 20 overseas university partners, IUKL is ableto compete both locally and globally in terms of education quality and learning experience. The mutual arrangement with the universities from countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, China,Germanyand the United States of Americacovers a broad spectrum of collaborative efforts.
Today,IUKLhas successfully produced more than 4000 graduates who are now serving both the government and private sectors and are sought after even before they graduate.
