 Is science for you?

If you're not sure if you'll do well in a science course, take

this quiz and see if you have what it takes.

1. When playing strategic games like chess, scrabble and solving puzzles, you:

Start salivating. Nothing gives you more pleasure than analysing.

Yawn. You can do it, but you're too lazy to push your mind.

There are so many other things to think about... like what to eat

     for lunch.

Get a sick feeling in your stomach. The room spins and the ceiling

     caves in.

2. In science class, you:

Question, question, question until you're satisfied that all logical

     options are answered.

Accept theories as they are. To pass the tests, all you need to do

     is regurgitate facts.

Get lost. You just don't get it.

3. In the face of authority, you:

Challenge

Yawn

Shake and quiver

4.Given a set of building blocks, you:

Build a model space station

Move the blocks around to form the logo of your rock hand

Blank out. Visions of your childhood nightmare come to life -

you were always the kid who could not build anything.

5. When a new scientific discovery pops up, you:

Want to know everything about it.

Raise an eyebrow and think, "I thought they'd already

     discovered that?"

Gaze in wonder and think - "how is that possible?"

6.Exploring new territory or unfamiliar ground gives you:

A high

Nothing

Hives. You never know what's waiting to pounce

7. When you explain how something works to another person, their expression says:

"Ahhh ... I never saw it that way. That makes sense."

"Hmm ... ok"

"Huh?!?"

8.When someone tells you to use your imagination, you:

Go wild. You love it when there are no boundaries.

Sigh because no guidelines means thinking harder.

Have fits. The thought of no restrictions scares you.

9. As a kid all your toys:

Lay on the floor in bits and pieces, systematically laid out.

You love taking things apart and putting them back together.

Lay on the floor in bits and pieces, in a mess. You love

pulling things apart to see what was inside, but never put them

     back together.

Remained whole. You always thought magic moved them.

10.Your text books:

Have important points highlighted, little notes scribbled on the side.

Have a random underline or two.

Have plenty of scribbles - flowers and happy faces, sketches and

     wriggly things.

11. When solving a mathematical problem, you get a result that's 0.1 off the correct answer. You:

Check your calculations over and over again until you find the cause

     of discrepancy.

Know that there's something wrong, but you'll be damned if you

     care.

Jump for joy. 0.1 is hardly a discrepancy.

12.Working in a team is:

Great because there's a pool of expertise and talents to draw from.

Advantageous because you can get away without lifting a finger.

The pits. You either feel like the class dunce or you feel you're way

too smart to have to work with others.
